Plinken Run

Plinken runs in your browser. Plinken Run is a small native app that sits next to the browser on the same computer and does the things a browser cannot do on its own. Your projects stay in Plinken; the runner just does the heavy lifting locally.

It is free on every plan, including Free.

Plinken has two audio engines: the one inside the browser and the one inside Plinken Run. Exactly one of them drives your speakers at any moment.

  • When the runner connects, it becomes the active engine. Playback, recording, monitoring and plugins run natively; the browser engine is muted and the browser becomes the control surface.
  • When you disconnect or quit the runner, audio hands straight back to the browser engine.

You can switch at any point in a session. Nothing is summed twice and there is only one audio clock.

Plinken Run talks only to the browser on the same computer, over a local connection on 127.0.0.1. The runner itself uploads nothing. Audio you record and video you render go back to the browser tab, which stores them in your Space as usual.
