Requirements & browsers
Plinken runs in the browser. There is no installer for the app itself; the optional Plinken Run companion is the only download.
Browsers
Section titled “Browsers”Best in Chrome. Every release is tested on Chrome, Safari and Firefox. Chrome, or any Chromium browser such as Edge, Brave or Arc, gives the fullest experience. A few audio and video features are Chromium only:

Devices
Section titled “Devices”- Desktop and laptop — macOS, Windows and Linux, in any supported browser.
- iPad — Safari and Chrome on iPad are supported, including the audio engine. Large projects stream audio from disk, so they do not run out of memory.
- Phones — the app opens, but the Grid and the mixer are designed for a larger screen.
HTTPS and a full browser are required
Section titled “HTTPS and a full browser are required”The audio engine needs a secure connection and a cross-origin-isolated page. Two situations break that:
- Plain
http://links. Plinken redirects you tohttps://automatically. If something still opens the app over plain HTTP, you see Plinken needs a secure (HTTPS) connection. - In-app browsers inside the Google app, Instagram, Facebook and similar. They are not full browsers. Plinken shows Plinken needs a full browser with a copy-link button. Use the app’s Open in browser option, or paste the link into Chrome or Safari.
Audio hardware
Section titled “Audio hardware”- Any microphone or interface the browser can see works for recording. The app records with echo cancellation, noise suppression and automatic gain control switched off, so the take is clean.
- Wear headphones when recording. The header has a headphones toggle; with it off, the app keeps echo cancellation on in calls to protect the room.
- For an audio interface with many inputs, lowest latency, or native plugins, install Plinken Run. On Windows it needs the interface’s ASIO driver.
Network
Section titled “Network”Plinken talks to its servers over HTTPS and WebSockets. Peers in a Space exchange edits through the Space server and share calls through Plinken’s call service. No port forwarding is needed.
