Install on macOS

  • macOS 13 (Ventura) or later
  • Apple Silicon (M-series) Mac
  • A Plinken account signed in at app.plinken.com in Chrome, Safari or another supported browser

The download is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Taluvi OÜ. Gatekeeper opens it without a warning.

  1. In Plinken, open Settings → Runner. The Plinken Run card lists the current downloads with version and size.
  2. Click Download for macOS.

You can also click the Plinken Runner button (the orbit icon) in the app header: when no runner is detected it opens the same card. The direct link for the latest Mac build is https://cdn.plinken.com/run/latest/PlinkenRun-macos-arm64.dmg.

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg.
  2. Drag Plinken Run onto the Applications shortcut in the window.
  3. Eject the disk image.
  1. Open Plinken Run from Applications. A small window titled Plinken Run appears showing the version and the line Waiting for browser — open app.plinken.com.
  2. The first time audio starts, macOS asks for microphone access: “Plinken Run needs microphone access for low-latency recording and monitoring.” Click Allow. Without it the runner cannot record from your interface.
  3. Go back to the browser tab and connect — see Connect & status.

Plinken Run is a normal Dock app, not a menu-bar item. It opens no audio device until a browser connects.

Close the Plinken Run window or press ⌘Q. Either one quits the runner; audio hands back to the browser engine immediately. There is no background process left behind.

Plinken tells you when a newer version is available and you install it from the same download. See Updates.

Everything lives under ~/.plinken/:

PathContents
logs/plinken-run.logThe log of the current launch (overwritten each time you open the app)
cache/assets, cache/pcmLocal copies of your project’s audio, so the runner can play the timeline without streaming
cache/mediaVideo originals during import, removed automatically after a day
plugin-prefs.jsonYour per-plugin format choices and exclusions

Deleting the cache folders is safe; the runner re-downloads what it needs from your Space.
