MIDI editor
Double-click a MIDI region on an Instrument Web or Instrument Run track to open the MIDI editor. It has three tabs: Piano, Drum and List. Press Esc to close it. Every edit is one step in the shared undo history.
The piano roll. Tools along the top:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Select | Drag to move notes, drag empty space to marquee-select |
| MIDI Preview (M) | Hear notes as you click or move them |
| Draw | Click to add a note, drag to set its length |
| Erase | Click or drag over notes to delete them |
| Split | Click a note to cut it in two at that point |
| Glue | Click to merge touching notes of the same pitch |
| Mute | Click a note to toggle it silent — it is kept, not played |
| Velocity | Drag up or down on a note |
| Quantize | Snap the selected notes to the grid; with nothing selected, click a note |
| Stretch | Drag a note to change its length |
| Zoom | Click to zoom in, Shift-click to zoom out |
Quantize follows the region’s quantize settings: grids from 1/1 to 1/64, triplet and dotted variants, strength and swing.
A grid of hits per drum note. Tools: Select, MIDI Preview, Draw (click an empty cell to add a hit), Erase, Velocity and Quantize.
Every event as a row. Position and length are shown as bar · beat · division · tick with a read-only frame value; drag a value to edit it. Select All, Deselect and Delete Selected act on the rows. Automation events appear here too.
