Keyboard & MIDI devices
On-screen keyboard
Section titled “On-screen keyboard”Press K (or Show / Hide Keyboard in the transport bar) to open the keyboard at the bottom of the Grid. It plays the built-in Piano or the instrument on the selected instrument track.
- Shift octave down / up move the range; the label shows the current span, for example C3–C5.
- The keyboard length in octaves is adjustable and remembered on this device.
- Pitch and Mod wheels and an ADSR envelope sit beside the keys.
Play from your computer keyboard

MIDI devices
Section titled “MIDI devices”The keyboard panel connects to Web MIDI, so a USB keyboard plays the same instrument. The status shows no MIDI when the browser has no MIDI support (iPad and iPhone browsers), denied if you declined the permission, or MIDI error.
Instrument Run tracks
Section titled “Instrument Run tracks”With Plinken Run connected, add an Instrument Run track to play a native instrument. The runner opens every MIDI input on your computer, picks up hot-plugged devices automatically, and its chain panel lets you set the MIDI Ch and Device the instrument listens to before you Pick instrument.
