Recording
Record a take
Section titled “Record a take”- Add an Audio track and set its input source in the track header (None, a browser input bus, or an interface pair when Plinken Run is connected).
- Click the track’s record-arm button. Turn on input monitor to hear yourself through the strip.
- Optionally set Count-in and Metronome in the transport bar.
- Press Record (or R) and then Play. Stop ends the take; the new region appears on the track.
Each pass creates a new region. The audio is kept in your Space’s assets and streams from disk, so long takes do not fill memory.
Punch in and out
Section titled “Punch in and out”Set In and Out in the range strip and enable Punch (Enable auto punch (record only between punch in/out)). The track records only inside that range, so you can fix one phrase without touching the rest.
Monitoring and headphones
Section titled “Monitoring and headphones”Plinken monitors through the channel strip with a single audio buffer of delay, so a singer hears themselves without a perceptible lag. Recording disables the browser’s echo cancellation, noise suppression and automatic gain so what you record is the raw signal.
If your playback is audible through speakers while a track is armed, the Grid warns: Recording while playback is unmuted — use headphones to avoid feedback. Use the headphones toggle in the header when you wear them.
Recording offset
Section titled “Recording offset”Any system adds a small delay between what you hear and what lands on disk. Plinken does not delay your monitor path to hide it; instead the take is shifted when it is placed. Settings → Audio has Recording offset and Auto offset for the browser engine. With Plinken Run the runner measures its own interface latency.
Mono sources record as mono files; stereo inputs record stereo.
