Grid
The Grid is where you arrange a production: a video timeline and an audio timeline side by side, with tracks stacked top to bottom and time running left to right. Everything you do here is shared live with everyone in your Space.
Transport bar
Section titled “Transport bar”The bar across the top of the Grid holds the transport and the global controls:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Snap mode | Smart, Bar, Beat, Division, Ticks, Frames, Samples — how edits snap to the grid. Use Frames when cutting video. |
| Go to start, Back, Forward, Stop, Play, Record | Transport. Space toggles play, R toggles record. |
| Record Automation | Arm automation recording — see Automation. |
| Cycle | Loop the range set in the range strip. |
| Count-in, Metronome | Click settings; the number of count-in bars lives in Settings → Grid. |
| MTC, MC | MIDI timecode and MIDI clock output. |
| Catch-up | When on, the Grid scrolls to follow the playhead. |
| Show / Hide Keyboard (K) | The on-screen keyboard — see Keyboard & MIDI devices. |
| Horizontal zoom, Vertical zoom | Sliders; zooming all the way out fits bar 1 to the end marker. |
| Save project, Send link to this project | Save, or copy a link that opens this project at the current position. |
| Toggle video monitor | Opens the video monitor. |
| Open browser | The side panel described below. |
The displays show tempo, time signature, musical key and the playhead position.
Range strip
Section titled “Range strip”Under the transport you set the Cycle range and the Punch range (In / Out). With Enable auto punch on, recording only happens between the punch points.
End marker
Section titled “End marker”A draggable marker sets where the project ends. Drag it along the ruler; it snaps to the grid and the Grid scrolls when you reach the edge. Zoom-out and bounces use it as the project length.
Browser panel
Section titled “Browser panel”Open browser slides in a side panel with three lists: Video Assets (drop a file here to import, or drag an item onto a video track), Motion (compositions baked in the Motion editor) and Audio Files.
Undo is shared
Section titled “Undo is shared”There is one undo history for the whole project — Cmd/Ctrl+Z works the same in the Grid, the MIDI editor, the wave editor and the mixer, and your peers’ edits appear as they happen. See Keyboard shortcuts for the full list.
